The story

Kitted out in their own workshops

4x4 Mega World sells and fits 4x4 gear from branches and franchises across South Africa, with a head office in Boksburg. Its website has a section of vehicles it has fitted out, from Rangers with canopies and rooftop tents to Hilux and D-Max builds.

The range is built around ARB and Old Man Emu. Old Man Emu started in 1976 and ARB bought it in 1988, and it makes suspension for over 200 4WD models. Next to that sit Alu-Cab and Gomad canopies, Desert Products bars and racks, Engel fridges and REDARC power gear.

If the build runs over budget, 4x4 Mega World Finance is underwritten by a registered credit provider and asks for a 10% deposit once approved.

Is the Old Man Emu shock price for a pair?

No. The D-Max rear OME shock is priced per shock: the product page says the price is for one shock only.

Do I need to drill my D-Max for the Alu-Cab Explorer Guard canopy?

No. The product page says it is a no-drill fit that takes about 45 minutes, and the canopy weighs about 60 kg.

Will they fit what I buy?

Yes. 4x4 Mega World offers fitment at its branches (FAQ), and its site shows bakkies it has kitted out.

Can I pay off a build?

4x4 Mega World Finance is underwritten by Wozipo Capital (Pty) Ltd, a registered credit provider (NCRCP402). You apply with a branch quote and, if approved, pay a 10% deposit to the branch. Finance

Can I walk into the Boksburg head office?

No. The head office is not a retail shop. Use the store finder. Store hours on the finder: Monday to Friday 8:00 to 17:00, Saturday 8:00 to 13:00.
