The Volkswagen Amarok 2.0 TDI in South Africa, explained

The Volkswagen Amarok 2.0 TDI is the single-turbo 2.0 diesel, the entry engine in both Amarok generations and the usual choice in single cabs.

The Volkswagen Amarok is the bakkie that made the "lifestyle double cab" premium respectable in South Africa. The first generation (2010 to 2022; 2.0 TDI and 2.0 BiTDI, then the cult 3.0 V6 TDI from 2017 in Highline, Extreme and Dark Label trim) still commands strong prices: the V6 especially. The second-generation Amarok (2023 onward) shares its platform with the Next-Gen Ranger and is built alongside it in Silverton, with 2.0 TDI, 2.0 BiTDI and 3.0 V6 TDI engines in Life, Style, PanAmericana and Aventura trims. Live asking prices below are aggregated daily from listings nationwide.
